“We just have to keep marching ahead no matter what life throws at all of us. (laughs) This is coming from me, who has been standing right here at this market selling kerchiefs, napkins and mats since 1996. I saw a lot of vendors in the other markets do this business. I took inspiration from them and started this business in Besant road. I feel I did a good thing by starting here because this market is like one-shop-stop for the entire town. Well, the business is not great at the moment because of the ongoing pandemic but it was quite sunny and rosy earlier. I am sure, it will all be fine again in a few days.
I am a content man. I enjoy little things in life. I studied till class 4. Well, my biggest regret is not studying till 10th standard. Had I studied, I would have landed my uncle’s job as a painter in the Indian railways. After his death, his job couldn’t come to me because I didn’t have basic education. Having said that, these regrets are just passing clouds. I am quite happy about how my life has shaped up. If I have to describe my life, I would say it is simple and satisfied. I work hard at the market and when I find some leisure time, I spend it with my wife and children, encourage them to study, so that they can lead a life of their dreams, go out for movies with friends. Of course, we watch it on phone these days. Just like how we found a way to watch movies during these tough times, we have to find way for everything in life.”
