“Although we come across many teachers in life, there are some that we remember our whole life.
Whenever the word teacher comes up, the picture that comes to my mind is of my Science teacher.
I hail from Posupalle, a small village in Andhrapradesh. I had studied in Modern High School in Proddutur Town.
Though every teacher in that school was dedicated to his/her duty, Ms. Aruna garu was extraordinary in her service as an educator. She not only taught us lessons from textbooks but also the values of life.
During her 30+ years of service in the teaching profession, I heard that she had never came late to the class.
We had maintained a book bank in our school library by which the used books are collected free of cost and once the girl/ boy passes out of one class and enters the higher class, the same are presented to underprivileged students who cannot afford new books. It was her idea to start it. She used to make us to do it so that the we can learn the helping nature towards the needy.
She used to come up with a logical assignments all the time which were challenging but interesting at the same time. Sometimes, when we could complete those assignments, it felt like cracking the interview of a dream job. But it’s all to ensure the over all development of the student.
When ever there are special days like Teacher’s Day, Sports Day or Annual Day in school, there was a practice of students taking up the decoration works. During these occasions, she would take personal interest, guide students and conduct competitions. Through those activities, indirectly she taught us the spirit of teamwork. These are all the small things which helped me to become what I am today.
I’ll always remember you Ms. Aruna. Thank you very much for your incredible support and also for making Science my favourite subject for life!”
