“It’s been two days since the state has been under lockdown inorder to contain the spread of novel corona virus. Everything is shut here including the public transport. I was given work from home for ten days for the first time ever since I started working.

While I don’t usually stay at home, I have realised one thing during this phase – the importance of spending time with our family members. We don’t generally realise their value and acknowledge them for the sacrifices they make to us everyday to ensure all our needs are fulfilled.
I often eat outside food because of my work life and also complain about the food which my mom makes everyday. But now, I am totally dependent on the home-cooked food for the past 3 days as all the eateries around are shut. I often complained for luxuries at home even though my father worked hard day and night to ensure I get the best possible facilities in life.

All these days, my life revolved around catching up with friends, going to movies, games, partying, etc but I have never realised the fact that there was my family who sacrificed many things in life to ensure I stay happy everyday. It has now proved that all these things are temporary and it’s only the family and their love which stays with us for a lifetime.
We often see our parents and grandparents confined to the four walls at home and spend most of their time doing household chores. From now on, let us also take the responsibility of doing the housework too!

Considering the current situation of state lockdown, it’s time for each and every one of us to act responsibly and stay home quarantined by maintaining the community prevention measures. Let us turn this self isolation into rediscovering the true value of family and in that process discover the beauty of being a responsible citizen!”
