“Growing up, I was always a studious kid. Just like everyone else, my parents wanted me to have a stable career. But all of that changed when my cousin came home one day for a photo shoot project. It was a photo-essay project for Andhra Pradesh Tourism and I was quite fascinated with her work. I had the opportunity to go along with her for few days during summer holidays and that’s when I decided to something in the media field. As my twelfth grade came to and end and I had to make a career choice, I wanted to pick something other than engineering. So, I opted for Graduation in Visual Communication. I had no clue about the course or what I wanted to be – I was just giving it a shot. I already had a camera then, but it meant nothing to me. This was until the second year of college, when I got introduced to the core subjects of photography. Till then, it was all theoritical, with endless notes, none of which made sense to me. But that semester kick-started my photography journey. I started on a journey with my camera and never looked back. I truly loved the feeling of clicking pictures and it gave me a sense of validation. Eventually, I took up freelance projects and made a living for myself at the age of 19. Looking back at my journey, I feel blessed to have wonderful parents who support my choices and now that I have started on this path, I’m not going to stop!”
