“Our personal and professional lives are intertwined. I realized this when I became a single parent after I got separated. My confusion in personal life and my desire to carve an identity helped me chalk out a professional career. One thing led to the other…and this consultancy company came into existence. Here I help students who wish to study abroad..and every time, someone walks into my room, first I think of it as a service and then a business.
I have always felt that life doesn’t discriminate based on gender. So it’s tough out there for everyone…maybe a little more for a woman. For instance, in my previous job, I wasn’t promoted beyond a regional head as others were not in favor of a female boss. But a close friend of mine is a perfect gentleman who helped shape my professional life. So, things will even out, if you treat everyone with respect and have a positive outlook.
Recently, my 20-year-old son told me….now that he is independent, I should focus on my dreams. And I intend to just that…build and expand this consultancy of mine.”
