“I was 20 years old when I moved to Mangalagiri from Sattenapalle. I had no idea about life, livelihood and living, but I definitely had the drive. I had the ambition to do bigger things. With the same zeal in my heart, I catapulted my own Sawmill business. I am 70 years old now, and I am proud to say that I have come a long way. I run my own Timber and Sawmill depot, and have been running it for 50 years now.
People get me trees from the woods around their areas- following this, we saw the wood and give it back to them. Having worked for more than 50 years now, my body is not able to keep up with the strenuous work. My mind and heart is right here, but unfortunately not my body anymore. I am grateful to my son for taking the reins from me. He chose to carry forward my legacy and dreams.
My daughters are married and settled. Now, I want to cater some time to my family. While taking care of the depot, I couldn’t focus much on my family, but I’m making up for all that lost time now. I play with my grandchildren a lot now and watch them try to marvel me with their wit, it’s incredibly fulfilling. It’s safe to say life has been reasonably kind to me.”
