“My home town is Sattenapalle, but I have been living in Guntur for the last 15 years. Earlier, I had a cycle rickshaw, but as the number of auto-rickshaws and buses in the city increased, my daily earning decreased. So, to get more work, I redesigned my rickshaw into a trolley so I could transport goods for the local suppliers. Usually, I earn Rs. 300 — 350 every day, but I had not earned even half that in past few weeks, because of the lockdown. I heard that the government was providing relief to people like us. But I do not like to accept relief without work. I believe that income without labour is not worth it at all. I hope that the government provides us with more work opportunities so that we can get out of this situation soon!”
