“I am a first time mother to be and in 35 years of my life, I didn’t know this was the most ecstatic feeling. We were expecting pregnancy last year itself but like they say, man proposes, god disposes, things took its own course of time. I am glad it is finally happening now. I am 8 months into pregnancy and I still relive the day I realised I was pregnant. I had tears, happy tears rather. I immediately informed my husband only to see him share the same happy tears. We pinched each other to know if it was a dream. I was thrilled but in the back of mind, I was also worried about how I was going to handle the responsibilities of a child. I told myself to calm down because I know once motherhood kicks in, the sense of responsibility will come gushing into us. Since it is a pandemic pregnancy, we took utmost care. I tried to supress my cravings in order to stay safe. I tried making different cuisines at home itself.
Another precious feeling during pregnancy is hearing the heartbeat of the child. Of course, he/she inside is a great kickboxer. (laughs)
I have added a lot of baby clothes, toys and crib to the cart. Once the baby is here, I want to order them all. I learnt knitting and made some rompers, shoes, caps in vibrant colours for the child. I can’t wait to make the child to wear them and have a photoshoot done in them.
The journey to being a mother is beautiful. The feeling of knowing that there is another human growing inside of you is heart warming. Sometimes I have goosebumps thinking about it. I can’t wait to hold my baby.”
