“Almost 20 years ago, when I was just a teenager, I had shifted to Vijayawada to earn a living.
I started off by selling tea for 50 paise back then and now I serve different varieties of traditional South Indian breakfast. Apart from the regular items like idli, dosa, and puri, I also serve special items like egg bonda, egg dosa, and paneer dosa which my customers prefer to eat these days.
My day begins at 4 a.m. and I am up until 12 p.m. serving piping hot tiffins. There are customers who have been eating here regularly for the past 10 years and that pushes me to serve better every day.
The current Covid-19 situation has made things extremely difficult for small food joints like mine but I will not give up. It took me long years of struggle to come to this place and I will continue to work hard.
Although I run this business for a livelihood, I am also thankful to the people of Vijayawada and the city as it has given me an identity of my own today.”
