“I have faint memories of asking my father, “Will you buy me a motorcycle?”
My friends thought he would say ‘Yes.’
In reality, he never, ever, said yes. I used to try and reason with him, and tell him that, “It doesn’t have to be an expensive one, even the most basic one will do.” Still, “No.” I used to think to myself, why would he keep saying no?
Now I feel he had his fears and for good reasons. Because even though I wasn’t a very fast rider, I was still quite adventurous in my own ways, especially with a few wheels under me.
My growing up years were marked with regular injuries, because of whatever stunts or speeds I could manage while riding a bicycle. And once, when I was in class six, I came back home with a lot of blood to answer for, having crashed on my cycle out on the open road, while coming back from tuition.
More than that, however, the fact was that we didn’t have that kind of money to buy my dream bike which is Royal Enfield. I was happy just to have a decent motorbike on my own among other things. So I decided to start my own food business of Frankie’s one year ago while pursuing my graduation. As I stated, I realized that achieving my dream wasn’t going to be difficult and I’d just have to work from the ground up. Cooking for people and seeing them enjoy has always been my passion, so I’m not ashamed of my small start.
And today, with all my hard work, I have managed to purchase a new Royal Enfield bike with my savings. I just can’t wait to show this to my father who is in the village currently. I am sure he will be proud of me!”
