“I was in middle school, when my father realised that I was a little slow when it came to grasping what I studied. I was at par with my peers, but I would take longer than them for certain things and my spellings would be all over the place. In my answer sheet, I often made spelling errors.
Eventually, my father figured out that I had dyslexia. Frankly, neither did it change my world nor did my life come tumbling down. The only thing that truly effected me were the preconceived notions people around me had.
I like animation, sketching and dancing. I love reading books and I am not weak. Believe me, numbers don’t jump around on top of my head at all. But what’s true is that we do need and ask for little patience.
So, to all those who said that I wouldn’t make it anywhere in life, here I am successfully completing my Bachelor’s in Visual Communication. I made it, just like any other student. Because my dyslexia doesn’t change who I am. If anything, it’s made me stronger and more hardworking in life. My father was the biggest support system all through out my life and he made me accept my weakness to work in my favor, made it my friend, not my enemy.”
