“I am from Vijayawada and I always dreamt of seeing myself on television screens, as a journalist. I was always fascinated by news anchors. When I was in school, I was really good at science – so my parents automatically suggested I opt for engineering or medicine. I had no choice in making that decision. Eventually, I ended up pursuing engineering. My family paid a lot of money to get me a seat in a decent engineering college and now I am in the final year of my course. After college, I work as a freelance journalist for a digital media platform. It gets tough to manage both college and work at times, but I always make sure that I do not let go of my interests. I go to college in the morning, then head straight to work and attend night classes as well. Often, I barely get time to sleep but I aways feel alive because I know I am one step closer to my dream. Most of my friends at college complain about their career choices. But I believe that there’s absolutely no situation that we cannot turn around and that no dream is too big….. we just have to wake up, believe in ourselves and chase it until it is ours one day.”
