“Ganesh Chaturthi is coming up and I cherish the memories I have made during this festival. The best feeling is getting the Ganesh idol to our colony. Those 11 days were my favorite time of the year – my friends and I would plan the festival months in advance and make all the necessary arrangements. Everything was competitive – from the stage decor to the size of the Ganesha – it was so much fun! And it gave us an excuse to stay out till late every night, singing, playing games and gossiping. It was a time of celebration with family, friends and food. It would always sadden me when we had to say goodbye to Ganesha. We have been celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi in a grand manner for the last 25 years and I love every bit of it. For the first time this year, we are planning to put up an eco friendly clay Ganesha in our colony and I hope everyone realises the importance of it.”
