“I am 47 years old now. I lost my husband within a few years of marriage. He died due to an unfortunate liver failure. It was earth-shattering moment to me. I had 3 toddlers to look after and had no financial assistance from my family. My otherwise nosy relatives never showed up again after his passing away. I was alone and heartbroken. Eventually, I started focussing on healing my heart and gathering some strength to face life. I had decided to take up my husband’s work. I used to work three shifts a day at a gold shop in order to educate my children and provide some basic needs. The shop was far from my place. I used to walk miles every day. After a few years, my health got deteriorated and I could no longer work at the gold shop. I am currently working at a binding shop. My children are my biggest strengths in life. They stood by me through my thick and thin. I had managed to get my older daughter married two years ago. It was the most satisfying moment of my life. I finally began to smile again. The only thing I hold on to in life is the fact that my children are doing well in life. My only prayer is that they should never have to go through what I had been through. I want their lives to be filled with nothing but happiness.”
