“I am 74 years old. I’ve never had any expectations from life. I leave my home at 6:30 am every day, take a ferry to work and then spend all day in the heat, selling salt door to door for my livelihood. Despite the stress the work entails, I enjoy doing it. People think that I am too old to do this job and I won’t be able to handle it. But that’s not true – I’ve been doing this for so long now that my body is just used to it. Not just my body but even my mind is programmed to work for a living and not sit idle. Until my last breath, I want to be on my toes and not be dependent on anyone. I derive happiness from everything this world has to offer. We often judge how the world functions without realizing the fact that the world is not our slave and it will act according to it’s wish. It is our duty to find the good in this world and live with it. We shouldn’t forget that we are part of it too. Be grateful for what nature gives you every single day and keep going on with life.”
