“I have always had strong views on the system as I grew up in a conservative family. I always wanted to do something for the betterment of the society within my capacity. I used to walk almost 10 Kms everyday to go to school, strive hard by doing odd jobs right from my early years and it certainly taught me many things in life. I had to go through a lot of discrimination on the basis of caste and class.
I was one of those kids who is a knee jerk liberal and always up there to fight for the justice on various issues. We all have to take turns to be the class monitor in elementary school and that sow the thought of becoming a Police officer in life. I thought I would be doing my part for the society. It’s the police officer who has to step in when everything else is broken down. It’s where conflict bubbles to the point of needing resolution, and somebody has to step in and protect the welfare of the community.
I did face rejections all through my career but I never lost hope in what I believed in life. I used to work in a district Post office after completing my B.tech and simultaneously prepare for the Police examinations. Every day was a struggle during those days. I had to face a lot of criticism from my higher authority as it was difficult to manage work and studies. I used to do a 13-hour shift during those days. Amidst all the difficulties, I am satisfied with my journey as I am here as a training officer in Samalkota town. I got through the selection process of SI. No matter how hard the life might turn out to be, we have to push ourselves with an indomitable motive and it will surely show us a path one day.”
